Welcome to the Children’s Room!
Story hours every Tuesday and Wednesday at 10:30 a.m.
Dear Williamstown Families,
It is with a heavy heart that I offered my resignation to our Director, Pat McLeod, on Tuesday, December 11. My last official day with you will be December 31. After New Year’s Day, I will begin a new adventure as Director of the Dalton Free Library. Words cannot express how joyous and fulfilling these last fourteen years have been for me. I watched a generation of children come through the children’s department, learning to read, creating art projects, and becoming life-time library lovers. What a rare privilege! The Dalton Library is losing their director of 32 years, Doris Lamica, and I am excited about trying to fill her shoes. It does mean leaving behind people I have come to know and care deeply about, most notably my co-worker and partner-in-crime, Helen Olshever. She will keep things humming until a nice, newly minted, librarian joins her. Keep up your reading. Great new stuff is coming out everyday, especially for those of you who love Rick Riordan. Thank you for all the wonderful years.
“I have always imagined that paradise will be a kind of library.”
— Jorge Luis Borges
This year’s wonderful Junior Librarians. If you see them, thank them for all their hard work shelving, organizing, and making our department the fun place we all enjoy.
