About the Event

Alzheimer’s is not normal aging.  It is a brain disease that causes problems with memory, thinking and behavior.  Join us to learn about the impact of Alzheimer’s, the difference between Alzheimer’s and dementia, Alzheimer’s disease stages and risk factors, current research and treatments available to address some symptoms, and Alzheimer’s Association resources.

Presenter:  Meg Ryan, BNS, RN, is a community educator for the Alzheimer’s Association, and a public health nurse with the Franklin Regional Council of Governments, who has spent most of her nursing career in community-based care of older people.  She has a strong interest in the ways we can maintain and increase our health and live life to the fullest, as well as a passion for educating everyone about dementia so our communities can be inclusive and supportive for all.
