What is Dementia? with Justin Day
Justin Day from The Harper Center will discuss how to optimize your connection to individuals who have dementia. He will talk about how to build on their strengths and the importance of approaching them with a positive attitude, to enhance both their lives and those of their caretakers.

About the Event
Justin Day works as the Staff Development Coordinator at Williamstown Commons, an Elderly Care Services center in Williamstown, MA. This program is hosted by both the Milne Public Library and the Council on Aging.
In this lecture and Q&A session we will show how your connection with those afflicted with dementia makes a difference. We will discuss how to build on a person's strength and how approaching them with a positive demeanor enhances their lives. Tips presented here include physical interaction using hand in hand technique, ways to keep yourself and the person with Alzheimer's safe, and other ways to best connect.
