Technology for You!

Here at the David and Joyce Milne Public Library, we offer a variety of options to suite all your tech needs outside of printing & copying.

The Thingdom

TECHNOLOGY

Why buy new technology when you can borrow? The Thingdom is our brand new lending library of things, from which you will be able to borrow from a wealth of exciting items!

We have an enormous catalogue of tech items waiting for you to check out. Items include speakers, projectors, and more. Explore our Technology Thingdom here:

Computers & Earplugs

We provide computers for patron usage!

  • Chromebooks for in-house use can be found at the front of the library near the Circulation Desk

  • Public computer access is available. There are three desktops found near the printer and copying machine. These may be used for two hours at a time. Scanning your library card will begin the session.

    • If you do not have a library card, you can sign up for one here or stop by the Circulation Desk to get one in person!

  • We offer earplugs for public computers in case you need to listen to audio. Stop by the Circulation Desk and ask for a pair!

Printing & Copying

The library has a printer available for public use, situated next to the public computers near the Reference Desk. The printer is capable of printing in both black & white and color.

Black and white printouts cost $0.10 per sheet.

Color printouts cost $0.20 per sheet.

To use the printer, just log into a public computer using your library card or a guest pass. When you click to print a document, a pop-up will inform you how much the total will be. Upon your confirmation, the print job is sent to the printer. Scan your library card or guest pass at the print station and follow the on-screen instructions to print

Mobile Printing

You can also send documents to our printer from your phone, tablet or PC. To do this, go to:

print.princh.com

Once there, you will need to enter our printer ID, which is:

109294

Then click to select your file and upload. You can upload multiple files in one batch, and the total number of pages and total price will update at the bottom of the page.

Once you have uploaded your files, check the box to accept the terms and conditions, and then click 'continue'. You will be asked to enter your email address, which is how you will identify your print job at the print station.

Email to Print

Alternatively, you can print an email or an email with an attachment by sending an email to wimain.bw@ewprints.com. This offers less control overall than printing via print.princh.com, but is the easiest way to print an email directly.

Copying

If you need to make any black and white copies of a document, we have a copier available for public use at the front of the library, opposite the front desk.

Copies are $.10 per page.

Wi-Fi Access

Wi-Fi is available and free to use at the library.

When connecting, you will be prompted to open a new browser and connect to our public hotspot. You will scroll down to the end of the page and accept the terms and conditions. Once this is done, you are ready to use the internet!

If you have any questions about connecting, stop by the Reference Desk. We are always here to help!

Wi-Fi Hotspots

You can borrow the internet from the library by checking out one of our Wi-Fi hotspots!

With a hotspot, you can connect to Wi-Fi using your personal devices wherever T-Mobile has coverage.

We have sixteen devices in total. They are available at the front desk of the library

How Does It Work?
  • You need a library card to be able to borrow a hotspot.

  • You must be at least 17 years old to borrow a hotspot.

  • Hotspots can be checked out for two weeks.

  • Hotspots cannot be placed on hold. Please come in and ask at the front desk if you would like to borrow one.

  • There are no late fees, but Wi-Fi connections will be terminated once a hotspot is overdue.

  • The fine for loss or damage is $80.

  • Filtering is turned on by default. You can request that filtering is turned off when you check out a hotspot. The library will not ask for a reason.

  • Please return hotspots to the front desk of the library, not the drop box by the door.

Click here to view a map of T-Mobile coverage.
